Local Gunshop Recommendations

End of next month will see us moving down to Hampshire, between Andover and Newbury.

Just looking for recommendations for some good local gunshops and country stores. I do a mix of shotgun shooting as well as rifle. Leaving behind a couple of really good local shops that stock a range or equipment and accesories so hoping to find similar down there.

Not too close, buy Dauntsey guns, despite being a bit “Arkwright ish” normally holds good stock of most popular stuff. Varminintg, stalking, shotgun or target stuff ammo, accessories or firearms. If they have something you want, Always call before driving as despite Clinton and his brother being it guys, stock levels especially on bit and bobs can be incorrect. I find them easy to deal with and prices not too bad either, ammo stocks normally very good

Believe they also offer a discount card there too? - a friend of mine uses them regularly & I have found them very good for shotgun cartridges in the past.

If it's centre fire ammo you're after, William Evans at Bisley usually have a good selection, they are also usually well stocked with shotgun cartridges too.

Not used them personally, but The Gun Shop at Botley is local to my brother & you don't want to ask him what he reckons to them...

Alas the very good place at Ringwood...I forget the name but bought a .270 WCF BRNO there is now closed? Lambert and Wiltshire?

Wiltshire rod and gun at Swindon have a good selection of rifle ammo.

Wadswick country store are pretty good and have a lot of used shotguns but a bit of a drive.

Yes we aren’t blessed here that’s for sure. Rifle ammunition wise certainly wilts rod and gun at Swindon wins.

Myles is excellent for reloading consumables & components, etc. a ‘larger than life’ character who will see you right & wont try to sell you stuff he doesn’t have in stock.

Prices on his ammo look good on his website too compared to what I paid the other day for some .308

Agree with Anderson's - really good.
Portsmouth Gun Centre - 5/10 now days (expensive and unfriendly)
Rakers - 8/10
Botley Gunshop - 8/10

Greenfields is the best one locally I could find. Decent stock of CF and rimfire ammo, new and 2nd hand rifles, optics, thermals, clothing etc. Popular for game shooters, good ranfe of guns and carts. Good staff and manager Matt always helpful.
