Sounds like you did ok mate.we shoot to 300yds with a 1 inch vbull at mcqueens..from there out to 1000yds a 3 inch vbull.obvously hard to come by shooting prone with timed details the last being 4 shoots in 20 seconds
What's not to like about a standard roe target centered on a 6 foot by 6 foot backing? At least then the shooters can see why long range stalking isn't a good idea AND benefir in any case from seeing where their group lies.

That's an interesting view point and especially as some years ago my rifle club took the decision not to sanction use of the DJV roe target for a new 200 yard competition for fear it might be viewed as promoting long shots at British deer!
That's how we came to shoot the DJV chamois target at this distance as foreign goats are apparently fair game at any distance!

A realistic and true to life test would be the DJV fox at 500x. The sort of actual shot you might have on the hill in Scotland on land that held deer and grouse.
It being thin but tall would punish poor wind judging but but forgiving on small errors in holdover. Certainly on the DJV target. A true real world shot.
