162gn blade bullet from a Fallow buck shot at 62yds. I remember a really solid thump on impact and after skinning my son found this just on the far side under the skin. The nearside shoulder was properly smashed but the buck himself had hit the ground solidly and never got up.

Nope. Smashed the right shoulder on the way in, destroyed both lungs, exited the ribcage on the other side and was lodged in the skin on the lady side outside the shoulder muscle.

Barnes TTSX 130grn recovered from just under the skin on the opposite side of a large fallow buck shot on the 12th October. The rifle was chambered in .308win and the range was approx 170-180 yards. The deer ran on about 30yards. The load was 45grns N140 with a Muron LR primer in a PPU case.
Recovered weight of bullet 129.5grns.

P.S. My first venture into the world of wholly non lead bullets. I have used the original Privi Partizan Grom bullet (which has a small lead nose) in my 8x57irs with good success but have never recovered any of those bullets.
