I am about to retire my 20 year old Scarpa Manta's and treat myself to a new pair of mountain boots. I like a stiff sole rigid boot that is crampon compatible. I don't want a highleg insulated boot. Scarpa's are not what they used to be, so looking elsewhere. Meindels don't fit me - too wide - I have narrow feet.
Both the Lowa and Hanwag make good boots, and it will come down to the best fit as always. But any views on Lowa vs Hanwag as to longevity etc?
I will be ordering them online, but want to avoid the faff of having to send back etc. Nowhere in Edinburgh seems to do good Mountain boots these days.
