Just bear in mind with McMillan that if you ordered a custom stock you can customise the fill weight to keep weight down, with heavier fill in certain areas that need it and lighter where it’s not required.. the permutations are mind boggling...

Really happy with my A5.

I went to see McMillan when I was in Phoenix and I was Impressed with the amount of hand finishing that went on to be honest. From memory there was nearly 8 steps between coming out of the mould and being dispatched. To get one with marks and blemishes I would say would be almost impossible unless it had been banging around in someone’s cupboard for a while. They are all dispatched in mint, and I mean mint condition.

I’ve got one of the carbon edge stocks and it’s very stiff, and I find the palm swell and grip just about perfect.

The PSE stocks are extremely well made and beautifully finished, and I can HIGHLY recommend having a look at Raven Arms stocks... they make some beautiful carbon fibre stocks.

This depends on which finish you go for. If it's molded in colours then they say that the finish may have blemishes, mold marks etc. The painted models like mine and 1894's mountain rifle stocks are alot better quality finish.

McMillan are excellent stocks , I have a number of them but won't buy anymore whilst Jackson rifles have the dealership due to a very bad experience with JR

I have a PSE stock and consider it excellent

Had one on my sako 75 for 3 years and love it. Had it Devcon bedded and it changed the rifle to an absolute ‘one holer’, a beautiful thing to boot. Weight really doesn’t bother me a bit, but I suppose everyone has different requirements.
