How many of you are using mineral lick/ salt blocks for roe and muntjac? If so what are you using and have you noticed any benefits

There is a deer specific salt/mineral lick available, I believe it’s made by KNZ. But having had years of using them, I will say your deer will only take it if they actually need it.

Use the horse ones ,keep them in an area for a wee while just get them from the local equine shop but some of your pet chainstores have them in.

Red rockies say they're for deer on the box. Mole valley do a knock off version at a fraction of the price.

Funny enough, just bought one today for roe and red £2.99......Bargain! says 'for horses deer and goats..... NOT sheep.

Funnily enough never worked for me on Roe. Including the aniseed lick paste you smear on fence posts etc

I use them in the odd areas for my Fallow in the winter. Buy mine from Bushwear.

The red rockies are aniseed scented and better priced than the specific deer ones which have stalkers tax added.

I have four out all year round with trail cameras pointed at them. Really they are for fallow which use them sporadically but muntjac do use them. Roe seem to hardly touch them.

Looked again and mine is marked Rockies 'Baby red' (no aniseed) made in UK!

Tried allsorts but our roe dont even look at them they just wash away in the rain!

I have tried different Brands in different locations for quite a few years and have now formed the opinion that the only person who benefits is the owner of the shop that sells it.

I just get the "red" ones, they seem to attract a "variety" of interest, the images are old as the cam has moved on.

What kind of trail camera do you have?

It's marked "Apeman" but can't tell you the model, must be 4-5 yrs old now and I don't think it was much above £50, needs drying out once in a while but has been out all year round.

Never found the Deer where I shoot remotely interested in salt licks. This surprised me because in winter quality food is scarce. We tried a few different types. Still no interest shown.
