Mmmmm

Many years ago used to take livestock to auction and in the afternoon deliver them to a slaughter yard.
Half of the folks do not know there food came this way because it came out of a plastic packet that is fine.
What happened to the old butcher hanging a pig in the doorway to split it in half.
Sawdust on the floor to cover the blood (glad I was raised then healthy food )
Do the vegans know they are killing a plant when removed from the soil.

Not so very long ago there was a butcher in a nearby village who frequently had a pig or sheep hanging in the doorway from a couple of hooks........customers had to wait while he split it.
Apparently, EU regs eventually put paid to that.......and selling the kidneys encased in the natural suet (for delicious "Rognons en croute"...) also became illegal.

Vegan meals are healthier? Is Dale a qualified nutritionist, then?
I confess my partner and I went vegan for a couple of years, around 40 years ago.......apart from losing some weight and no longer getting invited out to dinner, it didn't make much difference to how we felt.

I've zero issues with anyone choosing to be vegan. What I don't like is him trying to force school kids to follow suit.
Given that his company is called "Devil's Kitchen" he probably shouldn't be supplying schools anyway. It probably goes against all kinds of rules about religion in educational establishments 🤣

Trying a new breed of tup tomorrow Tim... 🤞

Anything interesting?
Or do you mean you're coming to our sale to buy one?
Aberystwyth, tomorrow. Be there, and bring your cheque book!
Are you still trying to evolve towards shedding?

I'm picking up a Hampshire Down tomorrow mate. Too much texel on both sides, lambs are big lumps in the field but when I'm handling (and on hook) need more fat cover.

Nice. I'm not a texlel/beltex fan, seen too many birth stress problems

We've used solely texel tups for over 10yrs. We also have a 20something ped texel ewes & lot of texel X commercial ewes too. Gradually moving over to lleyn ewes (breeding own replacements) though. We're lucky in that we sell everything dead & can communicate with farm shop customers. They different to supermarket shoppers, and vast majority happy for some extra fat/flavour on chops, as opposed to leaner bodies supermarket wants. So hopefully Hampshire might add some of that. 🤞🤷
