check out the ASE SL5, the MAE T12, and the "one less Charlie" range of moderators
Hmmm.... choices, choices. I do need to keep the mod light as the rifle weighs less than a sako Finnlite as it's a semi custom. I used a friends Tika lite with a T8 on it and although it does a great job of sound suppression, it is just too heavy and ruins the balance. Obviously some weight will be a factor and introduce a muzzle heavy rifle, that can't be helped but can be reduced.
I'll definately take my time and look at the top end mods for this rifle.... it's a special bit of kit and deserves a good setup.
Cheers all.
Paul.
Dear Sharpie
On reading you post I find myself a little lost for words..... everyone is entitled to an opinion however when quoting figures they should perhaps ensure they are correct before typing them.
I assume that by "examining" some of my moderators you actually mean that you picked up some of the selection of potential designs wired to the display board at the BSS, hardly an in depth examination.
The cross sectioned moderator was there simply to give people an insight into the type of internals that may be fitted and may have been a little below par (as it was a reject) however "very rough" is pushing the derogatory envelope a little to far and I find that insulting.
Now down to business.... the S Series, in the main for calibres up to .260" weighs nominally 420g, if required the larger calibres get the luxury of a thicker walled tube taking the weight up to around the 530g mark, however this depends on factors such as thicker rear end caps for spigotted barrels etc.
Finally I would hope that you may take the time at some point to come up to our 5000sq ft cottage industry complete with approx 25 grands worth of barstock, empirical ideas, prototypes, custom builds, innovation and see if it meets your obviously high standards.
Just my humble opinion
Hi Mongoose
I dont have any issues with you at allsimply with the other individual who has managed to get under my skin.
You are correct the Atec is an excellent moderator, as are many others. Apologies if you thought my post was directed at you in any way.
best regards
Colin
