Hi, just a little information, I recently visited Namibia, had a great time, wonderful hunting in the Kalahari, flew Heathrow to Johannesburg booking my firearms directly to Windhoek Namibia,no problems all went very smoothly until the Namibian police examined my rifle and noticed the moderator," not allowed" they explained and confiscated it until my return,i was not the only one to be affected another 4\5 hunters suffered the same issue.
The Namibian PH couldn't help although he explained to the police that he could purchase a moderator in Namibia, however I re zeroed and hunter without the mod
Upon my return home the PH contacted me to explain that he had researched the problem and had found out that a very recent document had been producedSilencers / Sound Suppressors
Due to an increase in poaching incidents in Namibia, the Namibian Police is advising all hunters importing a Silencer / Sound Suppressing device into Namibia, to bring along a written motivation on why they would like to use this device when hunting in Namibia. This motivation should be handed to the officer processing arms and ammunition import at the point of entry into the country.
We certainly were not aware but we are now.hope this is useful
