BLUF:
A plea for a steer or two from the SD collective regarding a minor technical question.
I am hopefully about to buy a used rifle with a Picatinny rail. I have never used one before always going for bespoke to rifle fit options mainly DNZ products which I have always been impressed with. The rifle in question is a Sauer 202 which doesn’t seem to have a wide range of straight to receiver options with the exception of Apel mounts which to me seem expensive and complex.
I will also want something that can be taken on/off with ease because I will likely fit a Red Dot sight for Euro driven going forward. Which underpins keeping the Pic rail.
My gut instinct is to go with DNZ (one piece) or Talley (two piece).
The DNZ option is pictured below and retails in the US for $120 - so £100 ish.
