Move To France

Stay in the UK then. I came here to get away from people like you that think they are superior to everyone else. No wonder there is so much conflict everywhere.
what a shame that you've lost your sense of humour through emigrating

i have travelled extensively worldwide and would never truely hold the opinion i joked about , but i also wouldn't be offended by another citizen holding that opinion. i am a very proud british citizen and i love my country and make no apologies for that.

The other benefit of UK membership of the EU was that if travelling overseas and in difficulty we had an absolute right to ask for assistance at the embassy or diplomatic mission of ANY of the EU nations if, for example, there was no British similar presence in that immediate location.

Is there anywhere in the UK you can purchase a house and 10 to 20 acres of land for 500k to 600k  except at the very end of Scotland? You'd be lucky to get a garage for that in many parts of the south and south east.

but it is the Fooorrrresst...... queue the banjos.....

Oh, hilarious! There are plenty who believe that.

Like the English families who rented a house up the dirt track from me a few weeks ago. They thought it was great sport to race up and down in the middle of a drought in their rental cars, showering me, my house and solar panels with dust.

Requests to the owners for them to slow down were met with going even faster. Arrogant tossers who couldn't give a damn for anyone else, we'll do what we like, we're only here for 2 weeks and then we're gone.

That's why I don't like arrogance, nationalism nor Air B&B.

That’s about all Brexiteers can say. You have yet to show any real positive benefits.
i don't need to show you anything do i , it's all out there for the finding but you do need to look since the media in general isn't going to shout about it

success or not doesn't matter to me (although obviously for the sake of the country i like that our economy was doing better than germany and italy although i have a feeling labour will destroy that) what matters to me is we had a democratic vote and it was enacted.

frankly i think we should have more referendums but we won't unless we promise to vote how we are told !

and voting should be a legal requirement even if it's only to spoil the ballot paper

So you lot voted for something that you cannot demonstrate any benefits, either because there are not any, or because they are hidden from view and probably illegal that you don’t want the rest to find out (tax evasion, money laundering, profiteering etc etc)

And in the meantime nearly 50% of the population are significantly disadvantaged, and in many cases severely so.

All so that you can keep spouting “in the name of democracy”. Amazing how many totalitarian states have the word democratic in their titles. In the land in which I was born there was a democratic vote - once. There has been a one party dictatorship ever since.

i never said i can't , i said i don't have to

the tax evasion , money laundering, profiteering etc was the eu free of all that ?

how is 50% significantly disadvantaged ? everyone can still travel you just need to do it differently now

the vote was litterally democracy in action , over 50% of those that bothered to vote voted out and that was honoured , i think we made a terrible hash of the negotiations and it took way too long but we did actually manage to leave the eu

Ok you don’t have to give us any positives. But many of us do wonder if you can.

As for the vote, it was about it was just under 52% in favour just 48% remain - hardly a unanimous, unequivocal result. If you applied statistics to the result it is well within realm’s statistical error. It’s why referenda should be 2/3 required, or at least 60%.

Many parts of the UK, especially Scotland where unequivocally remain, and I have chosen to live in Scotland.

And the party that brought this on all of us was well and truly booted into the long grass at the last election.

The whole point of democratic process is to do good for all the peoples in a country, not do massive harm to a large portion of the population for the benefit of a few very wealthy. The likes of Trump, Boris, Rees Mogg and Farage don’t that. I suspect they will get their just reward in time.

It’s why referenda should be 2/3 required, or at least 60%. same boring old argument , i could quote the millions difference but again to what end neither of us will change our view , and the facts are of those that bothered to vote leave had many more votes. the current government despite their massive win only did it on a 60% turnout , the brexit referendum turn out was 72%. ultimately i am genuinely sorry you can't accept the brexit vote but it is what it is.

Many parts of the UK, especially Scotland where unequivocally remain, and I have chosen to live in Scotland. not exactly , i have scottish friends who voted leave as i had many scottish friends who could not stand the snp and voted to not leave the UK. you've chosen to live in scotland nobody has forced you.

And the party that brought this on all of us was well and truly booted into the long grass at the last election. my goodness didn't they get a shoein !! and rightly so ! however if you think that starmer is doing a grand job you need your bumps felt!

I suspect they will get their just reward in time. not at all , the point of a democratic process is to follow the will of the majority of a country you'll never please everyone and to try would drive you mad plus ruin the country making us indesisive and weak , you cannot have a minority dictating what the majority should do , i for one would not like a rabid left wing socialist running us anymore than a lunicidal right wing nutter although i fear we are about to experience the former. and yes i am sure those you mention are rich and have become more rich off the back of their decisions but if you think any of the current lot are any better you're in for a shock!

Join the legion, you'll get French nationality after a 5yr service.
My mate moved to France 35 years back and his parents followed after they retired. Hell would freeze before he'd come back, but Hell would freeze before I went.
Like anywhere in this world, what suits one doesn't another.
Good luck to you in getting your dream if you go, we only regret the things we don't do as the saying goes.

There's only two reasons to move to France for me.
1. They still hunt most things with hounds.
2. Fifty years off my life so I would be fit enough to ride a good horse again.
