Whats best mozzi repellent that folks are using, getting bitten alive at nights out there, recommendations for face veils aswell please

Smidge works best for me. There is a cheaper alternative from Hedgewitch

Hedgewitch icaridin I think it's called. Not been bothered since using it.. Get eaten alive when I've forgotten to apply ;)

I too get savaged by bug bites-always have. DEET is good, but destroys certain plastics - it acts as a solvent even on secondary contact from fingers/face.

Smidge is good.

Get an MoD green mesh headnet from eBay and wear it over a brimmed hat if it’s that bad where you are.

Trek 50, not even worth discussing the rest. Used it in Florida, Bahamas, Tanzania, Norther Territories of Australia, Lesotho, Swaziland, South Africa, Mozambique and even the Midge and Horse flies of Dartmoor……..Never been bitten, would use nothing else after trying the rest. 👍

Well….. On the part of me that hasn’t been eaten by the mozies I spray with dettol water. One tablespoon on 250ml water. The only downside is you smell like a hospital, if you don’t mind that it works a treat. An old South African farm remedy

I've used the 100 % stuff , think the 50 would be more than enough and less likely to melt my flip flops when i spray a line under the door to stop beasts entering during the night 🙄

Not sure if you can get it over here but “bushman” I brought back from australia, don’t get touch with that on.

Does earing marmite not keep them away or is that an old wives tale ? 🤔

They same that seemingly the vitamin B or eating garlic/garlic pills.
I've tried both dunno if they work or not, infact reminds me to buy some more pills give it another go.

I live in a midge infested hell hole so tend to avoid anything deet as can't be healthy for u putting that on every day throu the summer.

I tend to just use a midge jacket, bought a load from Moray outfitting on here years ago and still going strong, have them stored in vans, kennel, sheds and house so never far from a midge net
I think the best/easiest way if u need to be out in them, smidge works ok but stings ur eyes if working hard, used to swear by SSS but seems to be useless on me nowadays
