Need to scope a HMR - thoughts

I have a bushnell legend 5-15x40 on my hmr and It Is a very good scope for the money.

They go for around the £150 mark s/h.

I agree, I had one on my HMR and it performed very well...................good scope for the money.

Ive got a Falcon Menace 4.5 x 18 x 56 on mine, its a bit big and chunky but I got it for £165 and its pretty good glass for the cash. Wanted the extra mag for paper punching.

Stevie,

Let's hope you never need thie warrenty service! As I said I brought a Falcon Menace CSS 7.5x50 and the reticle which is glass etched has a finger print on it inside the scope and also what appears to be dust. I phoned Falcon and they had dropped this scope from their line up. Seems they only brought a few of them, or the parts to assemble a few of them so their answer was send it in and we wills crap it and send out the latest version you just pay the difference  then they quoted the difference and to be honsest I could have brought another Falcon from some sources at that price and kept the CSS scope and saved the postage costs.

I now use it just for paper punching and will not consider one of their scopes again.

i use a simmons whitetail classic 3.5-10x40 does the job well, to be fair I don't use the 17hmr much at 'last light' like I would my stalking rifle.

i would go for a nikon. have a 6 x 42 monarch on my 243. was only 70 quid more than a nikko stirling nigheater and a hawke 30 30 ir. would put the hawke at the bottom of the pile hence its now on my air rifle. nikko on my .22 rimmy and does really well. nikon though is in a differant class. light someone turns the lights on when looking through it at dusk
