Anybody using these for stalking? I know aren't really a deer designed bullet but many people near me are using to great success it seems.

Norma class these bullets as for small game but I believe the V in vmax stands for varmint. They will usually kill deer but can cause unacceptable damage to the carcase with a heart/lung shot and there is a risk of the bullet blowing up on larger deer if striking heavy bone such as the shoulder ball joint. I haven't used this particular 110g bullet in my 270 but have used the Sierra and Hornady versions. They were very accurate but I only used them for vermin or casual target shooting.

For head shooting they make sense but with so many other 130g plus options available then why bother. The 110g TTSX on the other hand makes perfect sense due to the deeper penetration with mono metal bullet designs

Used the 110 vmax on all species..... great round! Not as explosive and meat damaging as people say either! Used it for years and yes whilst a shoulder shot roe is a tad brutal it's no worse than 150 grain 308 or 100 grain 243 shot in the same place.
People who haven't used them just go by the fact that they are designated varmint bullets..... yet they are heavier than the 100 grain 243 that many use.
Give them a go..... if they shoot acurately in your rifle like they did in mine you're onto a winner.

I have used them in the past, total disaster on roe, smashed them to bits internaly no exit wound , didn't realise it until I spoke to the butchers boy who skinned and butchered them, he didn't say a word until I asked how the carcasses were, stopped using them immediately.
