Not stalking related, but one for the anglers.....

Fantastic. I want one of them for my carcasses, talk about manual handling, brilliant.
Love to catch & release one of those, what a great fish.

Hemmingways and Ocean Sports Watamu Villages Kenya if you want a shot at the records

Totally awesome. You drink in the bar with fibreglass record heads hanging over you.

On my todo list one more time before the long dirt nap :)

Maybe one day if I win the lottery, it would be one of my greatest wishes to catch a fish like this & then return it!

Caught (and released) a few of those in a few different places - in another life - seems like a long time ago.....

The fish was very green - not ready to boat or release - this could have gone very wrong.

Marlin are very, very strong and unpredictable, unlike eg tuna which always fight in the same way.

Exciting sport though - Kenya is a good place for general blue water sport fishing but for a big marlin there are better places - seems to change frequently but Madeira, the Azores, Cape Verde's, Venezuela ( - yup, been there) and of course Cairns.

We get plenty of them down here in sunny Whitianga (NZ). Only the occasional black in our local waters, but a good number of big blues each year, usually between xmas and march. Only ever hooked one and had it on for about 8 minutes. Figured it was only bill wrapped. HUGE buzz all the same.
Do it if you ever get the chance.

I cant be sure you will get Cairns type weather here though
