Not really a factory load though! That said Holts dropped a clanger and had a load of sect 58 Schmidt Rubins nitro proofed unnecessarily at huge risk without realising the mistake.
Smith and Rubin 1889 was developed with blackpowder but it were from the beguinning issued with smokless for gp90, as the french came with smokeless 1887. Swiss 1882 revolver were different as they never changed it from blackpowder, as its common to take your gun home after your conscription handgun/rifle/assault rifle so as long an old man could have an old revolver home they never updated the cartridge to keep it safe.
