OLD STAG

Aaah, that explains the the condescending tone of your lecture 😜
Mate, Tim has given me and one of my good mates non stop grief since we joined this sight. My knowledge is hard earned from people I consider true deer experts. One we recently lost. I will happily share (as they did to me) with people who have been good to me and have given good advice on here before.

No need for a presentation. I find that visiting the local deer park can be an excellent way to learn about deer.

Spencer the stag is a typical example of a "stag going back"

You have missed pretty much everything.
1) No brow tines so it's carrying it's 1st head therefore it's 16 months old give or take!
2) It's small of body and carrying no muscle definition therefore an adolescent deer
3) Short face tells you that it's not got space for adult dentition yet.
It weighs 84kgs in the larder give or take a couple of kgs.
I should add that you won't be the first to get it wrong and certainly won't be the last. I would recommend that you have a look at the teeth and compare them to the guide in the Deer initiative Best practice Guide. There's a lot to learn about this deer ageing business.
Hi mag scopes such as the IOR Terminator can prove invaluable for inspecting teeth, Particularly when antlers are obscured from view.

What is obvious is that not one person on here has offered any useful help or advice except me. The usual sniping and critisism but nothing else. Standard for the SD these days. Every day is a school day people say so get teaching for once. If you think that I'm going to spoon feed you all then you can dream on.

Maybe people sent PM’s instead of trying to score a point with low hanging fruit….and I would rather not be spoon fed incorrect info.

@mike243, hope the PM helps! 👍🏻
 I suspect that you wouldn't know if it was right or wrong anyway gixer. I'm yet to see you post anything educational!

So, I have told you all how you can identify a first and second head. How about you guys all PM me with how you can identify a 3rd head and a 4th or more head on a non mal-form red stag. It's easy enough stuff but will at least sift out the key board warriors. @bogtrotter, please don't bother as I know that you will know, assuming it's the same on Scottish deer.
I will post the names of those with the correct answers next weekend. No replies will signify no idea as far as I'm concerned. 👍

And if you think we all need to be spoon fed, we’re not the only ones dreaming 😂
Has anyone ever explained to you the difference between teaching and preaching, I’ll give you a clue, one is worth listening too😜

They say that ignorance is bliss don't they? Have a blissfully happy day mate! :tiphat:

Even though I am stalking Red stag and sika stag with clients 750 miles from home I still check on the site when I can and have a signal.
Why am i surprised to find the same person with the same habit of making people feel small and making cutting remarks on here.
If you can't make a post without the remarks I suggest you move on. Or I will do it for you.
Have a nice day😁

Yet you ignore the post asking if it was a wind up. I have also offered to send the OP educational material to help for next time and explained what he got wrong. Who else has offered anything constructive to the guy Malc?
