Aye, many years when an old pal died his daughter asked me if I was interested in his collection of old walking sticks. I wasn’t but to be polite I said I would have a look and try to find a home for them. There were four of them all of which were victorian and has a little surprise when you twisted the handles - defo would not have wanted to sit on these! Local RFD handed them in - totally illegal!
Barbour waxed cotton gilet. It’s about 29 years old now. Has been reproofed several times, but the stitching is finally going and it’s probably about to face its last winter.
Late 1800’s cleaver. Date assumed as I know who it belonged too but however you spin it, bloody old. Seen so much use it’s now only 4 inches deep. Properly forged, will last another 100 years easily!
