Although I didnt go through with it they were happy to do the B+C deal with me. Below is a response from 2018.

Hi there,

We act on behalf of Bell & Carlson for exporting their stocks internationally.

In order to get the correct stock for you, please provide the description as well as model number that you are looking for. If we do not currently have the stock here in store, or you are looking for a different color, we can special order from Bell & Carlson, but be aware that special orders can take from 3-4 months to arrive in our store before shipping to you, and we will require full payment for the stock before ordering from them.

Also, I must stress that you research the exact model that you are looking for. We are not able to offer returns or refund on any overseas shipments. All sales for overseas are final, so please be certain of the exact stock that you are wanting before ordering, and provide the exact model number to us.

If you have researched your model and would like to order from us, we will need your shipping information (Full Name and shipping address), which will be used to provide you a shipping estimate, as well as provide you with an invoice.

We have two ways of shipping internationally.

International Air: This method of shipping is a lot quicker and is a lot more dependable. It is usually more expensive, however allows us to insure the parcel if lost in transit.

International Surface: This method is less expensive, however it normally takes substantially longer to ship to you (two months or more), and it is not insured. Therefore, if the parcel is lost you will not be reimbursed. We highly recommend by international air.

Once we have the required info and you have decided that you would like to complete an order with us, we will do up an invoice for you, which you will receive by email. Full payment will be required for the stock and shipping costs before it can be sent.

Payment methods: Credit card and direct deposit are the two main options for payment. If paying by credit card, quoted price for your stock and shipping will be the exact amount charged. If paying by direct deposit, there will be a $15 charge to cover the banking fees for accepting the deposit on our end. Please let us know how you would prefer to pay and the payment or banking information will be provided to you upon request.

Lastly, please note that we have had many questions regarding taxes on international orders. Please keep in mind that we do not charge any taxes on our end. We cannot be sure of what your country may charge for import tax and that will be a completely separate payment from what we bill. Please research into what your country may have for importing tax/duty. The only costs we deal with are the cost of the stock and shipping to you.

If the above fails I have another option up my sleeve.

If I were you I would sell the PH. Get the most money for it by leaving it unmolested and buy a left handed Remington 700 in 308 ideally with a heavy barrel. Have fun shooting it at targets and if you feel like getting an adjustable stock you have the pick of loads of options rather than the limited choices for the Mauser 98 PH. You will find more Rem 700s in LH than pretty much anything else and there are loads more aftermarket stock choices. A heavy barrel will be a lot easier to shoot accurately than the sporter barrel on the PH. Leave the old PH for someone to use to shoot deer and buy something more suited to shooting targets.

Just my 2p

That’s looking like it may be the way I go. I’ve had it confirmed that the archangel won’t work and neither will macmillan. That means I’m pretty much left with form and boyds. Which also means finding a bottom metal that will work with it to give me more magazine choice.

I had originally planned on using my .308 slot for a 700 and building it over time. Eventually a high end action etc but when I heard about PH being a Mauser action I really wanted to try it.

I actually prefer an ambidextrous stock and a right hand action. My got an anschutz 1416 in left hand and it’s nicer to shoot for standing but I find a right hand action better for bench and prone.

I've purchased a lot of things from Prophet River , great guys to deal with . They're in Lloydminster , a town that straddles the Alberta/Saskatchewan border , a few hundred klicks East of me . Buy with confidence .

Have you looked at the Parker-Hale TX1200? Can be had for not much money. Parker-Hale's target rifle. Heavy barrel, same Mauser action, with a wood stock that has no cheekpiece so fairly ambidextrous. The stock was meant to be shot mainly from prone.

That wasn't the problem. LOP was the problem and I didn't want to cut the lovely stock.
British stocks are too long for prone shooting, they’re designed for standing/stalking, the advent of the Harris brought along with it the notion that traditional rifle stocks create harsh recoil. No, they just have a drop at heel and LOP designed for their original intentions. Using a PH stock standing you won’t feel a thing with a 14.5” stock. Go to prone and it will beat you up due to the drop at heel and length. Shoot prone with an American 13.5” stock and even a 300 mag feels ok.

No and yes, you are correct but I was shooting off hand, it was too long .
I like 13-13.5" in a rifle stock.
It's been a life long issue.
My win 94 fits perfectly 😁

It was mentioned earlier about single loading for target work and forgetting about a magazine, but I am not sure if this is wise with a PH mauser, the CRF might make loading off a level plane problematic unless you modify the extractor claw somewhat.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their input. I’d wrongly assumed that as the PH is Mauser based I had more stock options for it than I thought. Due to not having as many options and the expense of the options I do have I think I’m going to get rid of it. I know someone who’s going to apply for a .308 slot and is interested so I’ll get a pictinny rail fitted ready for them and start saving/searching for a Remington 700 in .308.
I’m currently looking for a howa 1500 in .223 and I have just fixed my .22lr bolt action so I’ll still have something to shoot at the range in the meantime.
