Lets be honest, I run the Syndicate with Uncle F and when I post up our 1100 acres for £500 no additional costs but some work parties, I still get a shed load of slagging off about "how dare I charge for what is basically a cull???"
So it doesent realy matter if its £500 or £5000 you'r in for a slagging and deeply irritating comments like "I shoot 1000 acres for free they are ram packed with deer and I keep everything I shoot and give the farmer a bottle of Whisky at Christmas"
Well that's amazing but how many people have those opportunities, especially in the South.
And please don't bother contacting me for a slot. We are totally full at the moment and will be till next April unless people drop out.
Its also worth noting, I didn't realy have a clue about the costs involved with the syndicate when I set it up three years ago.
Despite significant donations from members including three quads, we were over £3000 in the red end of seasion in May 2019 having spent £18,000 in three years. Membership went from £350 to £450 to £500 in that period.
We now for the first time in the syndicates history, have a small working capital which I feel is sustainable unless we take on another significant ground and need yet another quad (we have 4) and 10 high seats.
And lets not forget I work for nothing so the hours I spent this morning sorting out cull dates seat positions and rotas, don't appear on the bottom line.
I could easily turn pro and sell the places at £1500-2000 per person, possibly more? I know they be snapped up. Existing members have told me to my face they'd happily pay £1000 fror what we have.
maybe one day I will, but for now it was never my intention to make money out of it.
