As I said if not for you then dont apply. No need for any other comments on the original post.
Could not disagree more. Surely would be good to know how many members, any high seats, Extraction vehicles, chiller facilities etc etc then people can make an informed choice as to what VALUE they would be receiving for such a huge outlay.

The norm with guided outings is that you pay for the carcass if you want to keep it. I don't see why it's outrageous for a syndicate to do the same/similar. It also negates the possibility that somebody unscrupulous could hammer anything that moves to try and make their fees back at the dealer, which isn't really in the spirit of it. Considering syndicates South of Scotland are expensive and/or usually seem to be accessed by "dead man's shoes" I don't think the OP will struggle to fill it!

What’s the location mate, nearest town ?
Suspect this rhymes possibly with Dongfeat. And that may explain the foreign stalkers - and the 'premium' some may be alluding to as well. I would retain an interest in the opportunity, but as others have said would like to know much more about the infrastructure, freedom of movement and membership etc.

It's about time everyone on here accepts the fact that stalking/syndicates vary in price from north to south .it maybe out of the ops control on price but we dont need people bitching about ( it seems a bit pricey) ( I can get it cheaper elsewhere).as i have said before IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH THE TERMS DONT JOIN.simples

Original post was “gauging interest” by someone who isn’t a trade member - you can’t tell me that at £2k a head and estate keeps the carcasses that this wouldn’t be for profit, so trade membership should apply. I think feedback is entirely legitimate in this instance!

I agree fella. My Sydicate is based in Sussex so hardly up north. Not moaning about cost either per say but I feel people should know upfront the basics so they can make an informed choice and not waste there and the OP time

I can assure you there will be no shortage of takers initially but long term with effective control no chance as people will do one of two things
Either whack everything they see in season and safe of course
Or go a few times get fed up with seeing nothing as it’s been hammered and leave
Thus new members lack of

The thing is, that comments do offer advice to those that have no idea of what or how a syndicate runs or what to expect or how it compares to other syndicates.

Thus new members lack of consistent management and working had just to fill the estates chiller(s) and therefore there bank account.
When you pay and go on a guided stalk you get just that a guide/ghillie a reasonable high seat and they will gralloch/ extract your beast or at least help.

Just more exploitation of the working man as there is a commercial value I accept that. But if we continue this way if will be the death of most stalking as most can not or won’t pay so it will price everyone out

There is a difference between being successful and asking a fair price and being greedy and I hate greed

The op is not obliged to post all info that's why he has asked to be pmd as only expressing any interest. But comparing what you charge to what the OP is charging I'd say you were having a moan

No not really but I appreciate it maybe like that. We as a Sydicate could charge more money and do deals on carcasses etc but what it will achieve long term is
High turnover or members
Lack of management consistency
Alienation of existing long term members

Short term we as a Sydicate will have a bit of dough in the account

Again it’s all about supply and demand and what people are willing to pay

For me it’s all about management of deer and members and being safe and performing the cull effectively rather than money

good evening, will the syndicate members be suitably qualified to shoot and larder the carcus ,ie dsc2 as a preference but dsc1 with assisted larder prep?or will the estate be responsible for the chiller/larder work and forward sales? and of course all stalkers will need to be covered by the correct insurance<which in its self is expensive!> i wish you well with your adventure.

Very disappointing to see some of the critical (veiled or otherwise) posts in response to a rare opportunity for stalkers to join a syndicate in the west country. I don't think this is what SD is about, and it's certainly not the reason I joined. I've made some good friends on here, and have just got back from stalking on a fellow members ground tonight. However, I think I'll give SD a rest for a while, and hope that normal service is resumed shortly.

Lets be honest, I run the Syndicate with Uncle F and when I post up our 1100 acres for £500 no additional costs but some work parties, I still get a shed load of slagging off about "how dare I charge for what is basically a cull???"

So it doesent realy matter if its £500 or £5000 you'r in for a slagging and deeply irritating comments like "I shoot 1000 acres for free they are ram packed with deer and I keep everything I shoot and give the farmer a bottle of Whisky at Christmas" :D
Well that's amazing but how many people have those opportunities, especially in the South.

And please don't bother contacting me for a slot. We are totally full at the moment and will be till next April unless people drop out.

Its also worth noting, I didn't realy have a clue about the costs involved with the syndicate when I set it up three years ago.

Despite significant donations from members including three quads, we were over £3000 in the red end of seasion in May 2019 having spent £18,000 in three years. Membership went from £350 to £450 to £500 in that period.

We now for the first time in the syndicates history, have a small working capital which I feel is sustainable unless we take on another significant ground and need yet another quad (we have 4) and 10 high seats.

And lets not forget I work for nothing so the hours I spent this morning sorting out cull dates seat positions and rotas, don't appear on the bottom line.

I could easily turn pro and sell the places at £1500-2000 per person, possibly more? I know they be snapped up. Existing members have told me to my face they'd happily pay £1000 fror what we have.

maybe one day I will, but for now it was never my intention to make money out of it.
