Pre DSC1 online training

Interested in experiences of on line courses/preparation available to prepare for the written exam side of the DSC.

Not concerned about the practical element too much….but I am crap at multi-guess as I never read the question properly……so need to practice this part. I’m pretty comfortable with the manual and it’s contents - just need a resource to polish the multi choice part.

Searched on here and seems a few websites exist including:

I have also found one run by Jelen/PWS - which is considerably more expensive:

Any experience of these courses and their usefulness out there?

TIA.👍

I used both the BDS ultimate deer data, and DSCtraining.org and between the two I actually found DSC training to be the better. DSC training gives mock tests which pull a range of questions from each category to give you a random actual style test. Ultimate deer data for a BDS has no such option and all you can do is go through each category in its entirety to test your knowledge.

DSCtraining for me learnt it in about 5 weeks as I was on same course as jH1986 .
It really does work with the mock test and such low cost per month really struggled with reading the book and storing the information in my pea brain.
If I can do it any one can the shooting test is the hardest test so practice and practice get them circles in your mind.
For your test shoot of sticks every time except the prone.
This was the first time i had used my sticks since buying them years ago and now used most times.

You will when you see the test paper and are you doing the training as well over three or four days.
You will be able to answer questions due to what you have learnt.

keep practicing on the target areas get them two circles top of leg and to the right a bit and between the ears and was told to put the cross hairs on the forehead to get the spot.

Passed at my first go but please practice

Good luck.

The DSC1 online tasting/ training is well worth the money - I had about four weeks before my DSC1 and within two weeks had it nailed…. It’s a basic webpage but it works ( I passed the DSC1 btw!)

If you think of the cost and time of taking the dsc1 you may as well throw another tenner at it to avoid having to take it again

The BDS ultimate deer data worked for me, the only thing I would say it’s maybe more set-up to make you pass the DSC1 exam than actually learn, but I’d still recommend it.

Ignore the dates on the seasons chart from DSCTraining for CWD as it was wrong when I seen it.

I’ve just booked myself on for a DSC1 and have used both bds deer data and the dsc training site … I find the mock test setup on the latter far better.
