Irish owners are physically cutting microchips from old and unsellable dogs and dumping them.
I get the impression that a lot of the dogs being stolen at the moment are ending up in Ireland to be bred from. But that's pure speculation, based on stories I have heard. Makes you think twice, though.Any particular reason Irish dogs aren’t desirable?
It’s not just Irish dogs it’s dogs everywhere, some breeders just see £‘s or €‘s and don’t do any health checks, hip scores, working credentials with what they are breeding with!Any particular reason Irish dogs aren’t desirable?

Hope this is said with hefty dose of irony !Those Irish, such scum.
So they're getting dogs chipped, paying for the chip, then cutting out the chip?
There has been a massive increase in imported "rescue" dogs from Romania, they're handing them out so easily that dogs in our own rescues don't stand a chance.Hope more dogs in shelters have found a new home, especially if they are just pets and not working dogs.
I wonder what the animal shelters will look like in a years time...
Its almost as bad as Romania, where they're breeding dogs, for people in the uk to rescue! And doing a roaring trade!I get the impression that a lot of the dogs being stolen at the moment are ending up in Ireland to be bred from. But that's pure speculation, based on stories I have heard. I'd love to get somthing with a good Carpathian blood line but sure to get it in the neck from the Wife! There has been a massive increase in imported "rescue" dogs from Romania, they're handing them out so easily that dogs in our own rescues don't stand a chance.
Mind, a good proportion of them are not safe.

It doesn’t make sense to export a stolen dog to Ireland you’re down 50% of the price straight away.I get the impression that a lot of the dogs being stolen at the moment are ending up in Ireland to be bred from. It does make sense if the stolen dogs are bred from in order for the pups to be shipped back to England for sale.It doesn’t make sense to export a stolen dog to Ireland you’re down 50% of the price straight away.
The story here is that our dogs are being grabbed for the U.K. market where the big mark up is
Wherever you are don’t buy from an unverified source or the traveler community ( pretty much the same thing) unless you’re into lurchers or pitbulls.
Nearly ever rehoming place will not let a dog go to a house with children under 12 years old. I understand why they do this but it stops almost every family rehoming a dog and forces them to buy a puppy.Just read that searches for puppies has gone up 130% since lockdown... requests to dog homes have only gone up 25%. Sad really.
Not the dogs themselves but seeing cargos of pups having micro chips removed or inserted or both on the sea front tells me all I need to know. I could go on.Any particular reason Irish dogs aren’t desirable?
They are cutting chips out of stolen dogs, pups etc and inserting their own chips and issuing their own pet passports etc.. They also cut chips from unwanted dogs and dump them. Those Irish, such scum.

Steady on my good man, that’s damnably close to a racist remark. Those Irish, such scum.

Yea they do seem to be their own worst enemy at timesNearly ever rehoming place will not let a dog go to a house with children under 12 years old. I understand why they do this but it stops almost every family rehoming a dog and forces them to buy a puppy.

Fair point, maybe we should be micro chipping and tracking people
