Afternoon all, I just wanted to say a big thank you to Gregor at Macleod's for super service and patience with advice, I couldn't recommend them highly enough should you need anything Blaser or otherwise!

Agreed. I got my Sako 85 from Gregor recently and he was great to deal with.

Well I must be the odd one out, Gregor himself is very knowledgeable but I find his prices for equipment high. The price he quoted me for a rifle was a couple of hundred pounds more than the lowest price I was given.

If you had told him that, I'm sure he would taken the opportunity to look at his pricing. Most folks do, as long as you can back it up and aren't taking the p*ss.

I've bought a rifle and a couple of scopes of him, all previously-loved, and found him to be very easy to deal with.

I have to agree with the earlier threads. I brought a scope at a great price and received fantastic customer service IMO.

I have dealt with Gregor for years and have literally spent thousands of pounds in his shop. Now that I have moved I don't get into Tain to see the old boy but if I ever needed anything in the shooting line, or fishing come to that, I would not hesitate in getting it from him, excellent service and excellent gear.

Thousands of thank you's on the WWW about Gregors buisness but he never seems to give anything in return. I have spent over £10,000 with his buisness, some face to face and some by phone and he never has much time for a chat at the game fairs. No calenders, no christmas cards and a website from the Eighties. I think he doesn't like giving anything back to the community that has made him a very very wealthy man. I still use him but it's all take and no give?

If you get great prices and great service - what more do you want?
Would you rather use another supplier who charges more and provides poor service, but sends you a Xmas card and a calendar?
His website may not be bang up to date, but all the info most people need is right there - and he prices most items which is something many RFDs don't do.

Why fix something that's not broken. It's to the point and has the info, grades and prices up front.
