Hi all,

Please find a link to my just giving page. Any donations however small will be greatly received. At the end of April can all the monies for the auctioned stalking also be paid here.
Frederick Duke is fundraising for Cancer Research UK
Many thanks to all,
Fred (aka Bushpig)
Done, but could not do it through paypal for some reason and had to use credit card in the end, not sure if something needs to be looked at on the just giving sight.

You will see that I recently advertised a Kershaw sheath knife for sale in the classifieds. This has sold, but I have another which is identical (unused). I still have too many knives and will post it to the highest bidder for this worthy cause. Payment direct to Bushpig as for his stalking lots.

Bushpig,

I'am sorry to hear you've got this fight on your hands, but wish you all the best to overcome it. I've been there twice, and it can be done !

Now, the rest of you.

Cancer can, and does effect an extraordinary number of us. It could be you, a friend, or a member of your family. Cancer charities are close to my heart, having lost my mother, friends, and having had my own fight. I've been keeping a eye on this thread, and on the JustGiving page. Since this morning, there have been over TWO HUNDRED views, BUT only TWO people have actually donated something on JustGiving ! I appreciate some views will be from people keeping an eye on the auctions, but only two donations, REALLY !

THAT, is truly abysmal

Giving to charity isn't just about giving some money, to get something in return, as fantastic as the auctions are. Giving to charity is about helping others, who are less fortunate than us, because we're lucky, and in a position to help, whether it be £1.00, or somewhat more ! AND, whilst I hope not, IT COULD BE YOU !

PLEASE make an effort, it just takes a minute, and everyone one here can afford something, however small !

Appreciate what you’re saying, but, just because people aren’t donating here in this particular case, don’t assume they’re not donating.

My family make monthly bank payments to Christie Hospital for the very reason we’ve been visited more than once by cancer.
We also donate monthly to our local Church and try to be selective where our other (Only so much to give away however good the cause) donations go, as everyone knows, some charities are businesses first and too little of what’s collected goes where the donor intended.

Best wishes and good luck to Bushpig.
Regards,Ken.
PS. When you say ‘Giving to charity to get something in return’ this does a disservice to the bidders, they are bidding more money for something they could get for less in other places.

Ken,

My post clearly isn't directed at people such as yourself, nor the people bidding on the auctions, which I said are fantastic, and I'm sure all the losing bidders will give a donation instead.

However, When I first looked at the views, there were 754, and no one had donated to JustGiving. At the time I made the post, it was around 950 views, and not one person had made a donation !

The views have now reached nearly 1200, some 450 since I first looked, and only 3 people have donated. That's pitiful. And, are you suggesting that everyone viewing this thread, bar three people, haven't donated, because they already donate to other charities ? Because I can tell you now, the type of people who tend to donate to charity, just do it, even if it's just a small donation to help a good cause.

I appreciate some charities use companies to collect on their behalf, and I won't give to them, I want all my money to go where it was intended, but this is direct to Cancer UK, not a third party, and not to some obscure charity, that has nothing to do with ourselves, but to a charity that helps everyone, either directly, or indirectly.

It's not like we're talking about a lot of money, the target is £900.00, and a £2.00-£3.00 from people would cover that in no time !

I don't know Bushpig, I just know that he's got a fight on his hands, and wants to do something good, that will help other people in his position. As a group, we should be ashamed that outside of the auctions, only three people have donated.

I really hope I'm p*ssing some of you off, you deserve it. However, I'm going to give you a chance to get me back. As soon as the JustGiving target reaches £600.00, I'll top it up to £1000.00 ! Go on make me pay :stir:

Donation made as I am not up to stalking nowadays.
Stay strong. We are all with you on this one Mate!:thumb:

p.s. The great show of stalking and other items that have been given for auction is a great reflection of the sort of members we have on The Stalking Directory - Kind, Generous and always willing to give to help others! Well done to all involved, you are all stars in my books!:tiphat:
