I have had the same thing with squirrels taking my free images, two things I have tried that work- set the camera lower down and point it upwards slightly, so you are not covering the ground, or if you are not interested in daytime photos, then you can amend the schedule so that the camera only triggers at night.I have a SPYPOINT trail cam. Works pretty well, but you need to shell out extra for a 16gb memory card on top of the £200 cost. Then you need to test it works 100% before leaving site else you will be going back the next day. Speaks the voice of experience!
Mine is on a boar feed station so I have about 30,000 pictures of squirrels and pheasants during the day then boar and deer at night. For this use the 100 free photos doesn’t last long but the unlimited plan isn’t that bad.
I use this cam for working out boar feeding patterns and times. So far I have worked out that if I am at home asleep or having a beer boar are there. If I am in a high Seat waiting for boar then they are at their home having a sleep or drinking a beer. Such is life but it is very werid knowing that there is something at your bait station right now 20 miles down the road.
Great tips = also worth changing the sensitivity so it only picks up larger species.I have had the same thing with squirrels taking my free images, two things I have tried that work- set the camera lower down and point it upwards slightly, so you are not covering the ground, or if you are not interested in daytime photos, then you can amend the schedule so that the camera only triggers at night.
Failing that, if I get a load of sheep in the woods triggering it lots, you can just turn off the cellular function on the app and simply turn it back on a few hours later.
Ha ha yes, and also to add, make sure its north facing so the sun doesn't set it off!Great tips = also worth changing the sensitivity so it only picks up larger species.
Are you not able to set the operating time start and stop within the Spypoint like one can in most other cameras? I usually have some of mine set for an hour or so before sunset to an hour or two after sunrise, but off during daytime, for example.I have a SPYPOINT trail cam. Yes you can. I am just lazy and don’t play with the settings. Are you not able to set the operating time start and stop within the Spypoint like one can in most other cameras?
