Is it legal to shoot ferals with nv scopes and thermal at night. I know the law changed.but unsure exactly.
Ferals are the exception, or at least always wereIf I remember correctly, it's illegal to shoot any kind of wild bird in the UK using artificial light, or any kind of night sight. But I might have got that wrong.
Might be different for ferals?
No it's not as far as I know. The latest GL doesn't mention artificial light and it's outlawed in the 1981 country side act.
From what I could gather reading a similar thread on an airgun forum it was allowed under gl05 which is now revoked.

Yeh unfortunately I won’t be stopping
It’s the only way they can be controlled effectively so as far as I’m concerned it doesn’t say it’s illegal and I’ve had no notice of the legality being changed
That's my view too. If it isn't expressly forbidden by law, it's legal as far as I'm concerned.Yeh unfortunately I won’t be stopping

At least you're not advocating the old paper cone, glue, and raisin trickInstead, I recommended shooting them when silhouetted against the evening sky.
Nope. I go for maximum yield with minimum effort! Can't beat a walk with a .410 on a moonlit night. At least you're not advocating the old paper cone, glue, and raisin trick![]()
