RSPB news.

I remember x rays of lead poisoned swans and other waterfowl in the 70s and early 80s clearly showing arsley bombs and coffin leads as well as split shot it took quite a lot of lead to affect a bird , i suspect 2 pellets in a harrier would not have caused fatal lead toxicity

I must have ingested a fair few pellets and bits of lead over the years and I'm just fine,,

well apart from the hump,

and the limp.

not forgetting the memory loss.

and the stutter,

oh and the h,h,,h,hump.

but my night vision is bl**dy fantastic. :tiphat:

Ah but your different (thats for sure) you dont have a crop and grind your food !!!!
Well maybe you do lol

If it was shot then whoever's done it is the sort of idiot we can do without.
It always amazes me this tag situation. If I were a baddy I would either hit it with a hammer or put it on a long distance lorry. I am not, but I used to know some that were.

you would indeed have to be an idiot, [the alleged shooter that is]
yes I've wondered that myself and commented on it in the past, It is highly unlikely[zero should be the actual number] that there are people in the UK who are not yet aware bop are protected, so why is it none of these dead bop are never concealed?, they just seem to lie about the place waiting for rspb to find them with traps attached, shot present, and tags mysteriously restored to working order by a stray sunbeam, even after some months have passed. a kipper would struggle to smell more "fishy" :-|

I don't know why this is being given advertising on here at all. However, did they confirm that the bird was killed by shooting or did they find lead shot in the carcass? I wouldn't trust these lot as far as I can smell them so wouldn't be a bit surprised if the lead shot was planted in the carcass! 'Believe half of what you see and nothing that you hear' and you won't go far wrong!
