Been back a few days now after a week hunting in the Northern Province with Bos En Dal Safaris. My third trip with them.
Head of the PH team is Gerrit Jv Vuuren and I have always gone out with Frikkie Snyman, also met this time the third PH Louis.
All great guys and very knowledgeable about their business, wildlife, fauna, birds of the region.
Frikkie and I had a great time on Blue Wildebeest , Kudu, Blesbok and Impala. Plus observing Sable, Eland, Gemsbok, Duiker, Waterbuck and a myriad of smaller creatures and birds.
Only animal I never managed this year was the Warthogs everyone we seen was a fleeting glance.
Met another brit who comes a week after myself and on the day of my departure we had a great lunch with all the guys.
I cannot praise the whole trip too much everyone involved just works to give you a great experience and the food prepared by one of the close family is fabulous ( lots of game from the hunts).
Yes I am biased in my opinion but in my case it is richly deserved.
On another subject just read MJ175 excellent account of his Namibia adventures " what a trip ".But his post about Trophy hunting is another matter. Very emotive subject and I personally think if poaching could be controlled and hunting was organised by the African Governments taking on board the advice and experience of Ranching/ Hunting communities wildlife would flourish.
I hope so.
