Sauer 101 GTI

big bang

Any thoughts on the Sauer 101 GTI? I think it looks great, didn’t feel too heavy, and am sure that I would be the limiting factor in the accuracy stakes. The trigger felt good and the bolt seems smooth. I just wonder for the sake of an extra £1k (and given that I don’t generally switch my guns once I’ve got them) maybe the Sauer 505 synchro XT might be worth a look (can’t afford a Blaser R8 at this time).

Only an extra 1k :-| Just go for the 505. The 101 will do the same job. But if the 505 puts a smile on your face, then just put some over time in.;)

Point taken. I wasn’t trying to be a flash git (that’s no way to make friends😉), it’s just when looking at the amount I’m already spending to get set up, it wouldn’t make a huge difference (admittedly with a buy, once cry once philosophy), and especially when you annualise the additional amount over the life / ownership of said rifle.

I particularly like your second point… overtime it is 🤣

One advantage that the 505 has over the 101 is the ability of the owner to swap barrels. It is my understanding that the barrels on the 101 rifles are a press fit which makes it very difficult to replace.

That is a Huge advantage if you going to either put thousands of rounds down or get 2 different calibre barrels
