Good evening all

I have a lovely 202 stutzen in 308, I like it, trouble is it’s a factory ported barrel. Beautiful to shoot with open sights and the 6x42 Zeiss but unfortunately it’s not getting enough use as most places I go require rifles to be moderated.
I’ve worked up a load using N140 and the 130 TTSX which is pretty good.

The choices I have are:

1. Keep it, have it adulterated and fit a moderator
2. If possible, get a good gunsmith to make up a thread protector that incorporates the foresight and use it both moderated and as ST utzen intended.
3. Sell it to some lucky soul that can appreciate its beauty.
4. Try to find a good 6.5x55 barrel and magazine.
5. Keep it and occasionally fondle it.

I’ve added some photos and sincerely request and help and information that may be useful.

Many thanks
John

I think you can have a extension bit fitted to fit a mod

You seem to have another stock , so the advantage of a Sauer is changing the barrels in 5 minutes, without a gunsmith
You are in Dorset, so I'd give Steve Beaty of Ivythorne Shooting a call (he is in Somerset) and ask him for a spare barrel, if you aren't too fussy about caliber I would be surprised if he couldn't sort you out a cheap S/H barrel, he usually keeps plenty of stock and is a really nice fella to deal with, also you can keep the current barrel for the rest of the time. Its a win win...Good luck.

If you fancy a 6.5x55 swed that shouts straight, there is one for sale in the classifieds…..just saying 👍🏻
