Dear users, I've paid £1000 to bank account user: outinthefield - Tom Russell - Olivia Miller for thermal sight, it was 15th of November and still did not get item. He plays a game with me and he promises every day to bring me item to my address but it will never happen. I asked many times for refund my payment but now I know he is scammer.

I've seen other recent threads on the same guy. Makes me sick and makes you think twice about dealing with people online.

I think I’ve been scammed
I’ve been messaged about a wanted ad I’ve got listed
The members has next to no posts but a member for 4 years, but to he cautious I asked for proof of ID and he sent a photo of his drivers licence. I paid for the item at the weekend and have been asking when it’s been posted via WhatsApp
Monday, it’ll be posted first thing Tuesday morning
Wednesday, he was on the way to the post office
No confirmation of posting and how I can’t access his profile on SD
I might be surprised and the item turns up but it looks like a call soon to the police might be in order

Is there still a danger if a new member expresses interest in buying something face to face?

Just wondering if I should be cautious about a new member coming round my house to buy a firearm?

You just gotta be really careful ask to see proof that they have the appropriate paperwork to require the firearm ie open slot for it. some are genuine but it’s hard to see.

I'm a new member and trustworthy, but unfortunately it cannot be said for others, but if I'm not sure i tend to try and meet at my local club/range with another/other members in attendance

I think the forum's general advice on this is that you should ask for dated photographs of their fac and available slot, and that if at all possible, have the viewing/transaction occur inside a RFD.

Never! Meet on neutral ground such as a range or even an RFD premises.

Report it to your bank they may get it back take pictures of the messages with you as proof and they'll get hi bank account closed for fraud

Let’s hope this pr#€k get his comeuppance all to familiar these days get a job and earn your money honestly no excuses it’s not right and you know it hope he feels the full force of the law.

I like to meet in petrol stations etc,or definite home addresses if sellers are comfortable, l have met some lovely people that way on the forum.
110kg gentleman, if not genuine, my cash is not coming out of my pocket easily.
Be careful out there.
Online payments l must say have been 100% trustworthy,l am of a generation that expects good behaviour.
But the world l know has changed for the worse.

If there are multiple people on here that have been scammed make related complaints to action fraud they may take a real interest in it.

If payment had been made to a bank account it should be easy enough for them to trace.
That’s what they do.
