Schmidt and bender scope,

I have one of each (non-illuminated classic 3-12x50), and like them both, but they're different.

The crosshairs are a good bit thicker on the classic, which some people don't like (they say it obscures some of the target, especially at high mag), but it does mean that having illumination isn't so important in poor light.

If I absolutely had to choose one, it'd be the Zenith FD7, but I love the classic too.
What range would you say it obscures the target on the Klassic scope, I’m worried that I might struggle seeing the cross hairs on the zenith if they are a bit too fine, if you get what im trying to say.

Remember the Zenith is FFP, so reticle will get thicker as you zoom. If you're close in and on min mag, you have the FD ret.

Thank you, il have to make a decision today I think just in case I miss out on the deal or they get sold out, that be my luck

If there was any issue reagrds these things, I'd say it was they can be faff to get mounted in Optilocks due to their compact size. As I recall we had to use a action IV base on the front mount on my Sako 75 action III. If it's going on a picatinny rail, no issues (mine is now ona Rem 700 SA with Tier One rail and rings). Just my own experience.

The scope is going on a Sako 85, my mate has got the same set up, But he didn’t have no problem mounting the scope, thank you it something il have to look Further in to.

I used the extended optilock bases (the front one projects backwards out over the ejection port) with extra low rings to mount a zenith 3-12 on my Sako 75 6.5x55 (action IV).

Might have gotten away with the regular long action bases, but don't think that would have given me the wriggle room to get the eye relief just right.
