I have x2 Drone 10's for a long time so learnt that the depth of field (focus) is much more critical also is the same with the Hik than a glass scope.
Like nearly all bits of kit there will not be "one does it all" from all which is on the market be it a knife coat sticks boots scope rifle.
If I bought my Hik again it would be a non LRF as the IR profile would be lower, also I never have used range finders in all my shooting with glass scopes to digital. In the draw is a Kahles 3-12x56 also a Swro z6 2.4-15x56
First/last light if I can't see it with those above then I could see it with the Hik or Drone 10 but the Hik has the legs with zoom to pick out a bit more detail.
For me it is a tool that makes the odds a bit more even as deer have the edge over us all day long.
A thermal add on might be worth a look at ive been messing about with my Hik Cheetah front add on on the 17hmr for the rabbits as I can't get on with the rear pard add on . Ive found the Cheetah reliable once calibrated now considering taking the Alpex 4ks off the .204 and .243 going back to glass and taking the plunge
Had one of these on my 223 and loved it. Swapped to a digital NV as our MJs are all moving after it got too dark for glass under the trees. It works but I hate it, and wish I still had the S&B!
I can help you out with that!
I'm still on glass on my rifles. All s and b.
I tried nv for about 6 weeks and hated it, so I'm still shooting with a lamp for foxes. I don't miss many. So much more exciting.
