Scope recommendations for 17 hmr

Got a Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15x50 HD on mine. Great scopes for the money. You might find one second hand for your budget.

Also used a Sightron STAC 3-16x42 on the HMR which was useful as well. Duplex ret, unfussy, small but capable. Think I still have it in a box somewhere. I should dig it out and sell it really as I don't currently have a rifle for it.

Great scopes I've had a few. Currently a 4-24 sitting on my .223 used with the Vulpine. A little large and heavy though for me on the HMR👍🏻

Thanks for all the advise and taking time to comment. Took the plunge on the Leupold VX-III mentioned above. Ticks alot of boxes. Good glass, light weight, short, low profile turrets, built to last and lifetime warranty. In times of watching what we spend on luxury items it comes in well within budget to👍🏻

Hi
I like the Vortex's dead hold reticle. I have the 4-12 Diamondback which is very bright, more so than the more expensive Vipers.
The hold overs can be seen on this Strelock screen shot.

I've begun to really like Vortex. Good glass for the money and fantastic warranty. Strelok is cool too! 😎

i used a vx111 4-16 x44 front paralax when i had my 17 hmr . i still have the scope in use today glad the guns gone though it shot well but far better off loading a small cf for the work i put it too so bought the 22 hornet . I think if i had to use HMR i would put a 6x42 S& Bender and bring the range in to 140 yards max if doing it again .

6x42 Schmidt is a great little scope, just sold one funny. Leaves the bunnies a tad small to the eye though beyond 100 yards (I know, get closer😂). Happy with the VX-III so far although haven't got any further than the kitchen haha. Likely only be used up to 8-10x mag but a little extra there if needed

divide the maximum range it will be used by 6 and it all seems very much easier. I have even lifted the variable Leupold off my 22 hornet that replaced my HMR a decade or so back . Putting one of my 6x42 S&B on , its really not an issue at all to 150 yards

In fairness I always think if you were only allowed to keep 1 scope it would be a 6x42. Do it all scope 30-300 yards.

Looking at a new scope for my 17 hmr. Considering a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x50 Swarovski Habicht 4-12x50 and Zeiss Duralyt 3-12x50. Not concerned in first/last light capability just the best bang for buck glass for day work. Exit pupil a factor for aging eyes? Anything else worth considering? 50 objective the maximum I want and not interested in target turrets just point and shoot. Budget probably around £400-£500
Meopta scopes are good quality glass and are light
