Scottish inheritance law.

You could always give Carruthers, Curdie, Sturrock & Co. on Howard Street, Kilmarnock a call.
They dealt with the Estate of some of our family a few years back. Always seemed ok, but as with many Solicitors, things can take a loooooong time - especially with Probate.

Thanks, I'm actually in Kilmarnock and have tried a few of the local firm (CCS & Co included) most of whom are too busy or have suggested that the case requires someone with a bit more experience in the field.

Levy and Macrae will be able to provide some assistance and are based in your neck of the woods.

If you look at the Scottish Law Society website it might assist you in finding a suitable expert. In my experience a lot of local solicitors can take things so far but might struggle a bit once it get complicated/unusual. I'm an executor for a late relative's estate at present and settlement of it has a twist which I seemed to understand better initially than the local solicitor we're using (who is up to speed now). It's probably cheaper in the long run to consult with the right expert sooner rather than latter.
Best of luck,
hh
