SD whisky drinkers

There are a few threads on here devoted to whiskey. If you are just starting out I recommend trying the supermarket offers if you like the description. If you like whatever you’ve bought maybe include it in your cabinet. If it’s mediocre - pass on it next time. Supermarket own brand can also be good as they cut good deals with the smaller distilleries not owned by the bigger players, which means you can get some good stuff for £20 a bottle.
This is how I picked up the Caribbean Cask.
Need a couple of others.

About twenty years ago while working with an old school Highland stalker our guest turned up at the larder after a successful day with a bottle of whisky.
He asked if we would like a dram to which we of course said yes, he then opened the bottle, filled the bottle lid with whisky and offered it to the stalker who downed it, he then did the same for me then screwed the lid back on and said goodnight.
The next day he again arrived at the larder with the same bottle, before he could say anything the stalker asked him if he would like to see the traditional Highland dram, the guest enthusiastically said yes please, Adam the stalker took off the bottle top, dropped it on the floor and crushed it with his foot while saying loudly " yell nae be needin that " and took the largest swig from a bottle of whisky I have ever seen !😂

Novice here.

I only have one bottle of whisky, The Belvenie Caribbean Cask. Bought it on sale one day as the blurb sounded like my kind of thing.

Not a fan of peaty/smokey ones even though I adore smoked food, dont like the taste in drinks. Only tried a couple, one was Laphroaig and it was vile (maybe thats not a good one?).

Anything in the £20 to £30 range that I should look out for thats like the Caribbean cask, kind of light and clean?

I was a whiskey heathen ( blended with ice & coke ) until a couple of weeks ago, a kind lady brought me down a bottle of Tamnavulin Speyside single malt as a thank you, I really enjoyed it with a splash of water. Note to self, I must buy another bottle!

Tried this because it was £22 in Morrisons.
A little young but I rather liked it. Quite different. Sweetish like all Speysides, but it's a fruit berry sweet rather than a spicy sweet. And very smooth.
well worth a go for that price.

That Glenfarclas is bonkers, there seems to be a few 'silly money' whisky's appearing of late.
I've recently discovered a Caperdonich 18 it's really good.
