Never really got into malts or whisky, my dad loves them and has quite a collection of miniatures which he bought 2 one for the cabinet and 1 to sample.With water, wherever you go, it's different (hard/soft etc.). If you have to then just take smaller sips, surely.
If your throat is raw it's because it can't be a very nice malt! That's what I always said, anyway.
p.s. hope the ribs heal up quickly

Hmmm.
Don’t bother removing your socks before tasting it - at cask strength it will blow them off for you!
So - start with a quarter measure of water to a full measure of whisky then adjust dilution, just like reloading - in small increments but as with powder increases do be very careful!
Not sure what the pressure signs will be but sudden loss of socks is a clear early one! Do let us know how you get on.

It was our Shoot Lunch day yesterday.
I was handed a (wrapped) bottle as a nod to my Herculean efforts at running the Shoot, day in day out, working long hours in all weathers...you get the picture.
Tearing off the wrapper and this is what lies beneath.
Without doubt the most X'y bottle of whisky I have ever owned.
I shall save it until I next have folks over, and enjoy it in their company (take note @Foxyboy43)

That's our tap waterThe only water to go in a Malt should be near enough the same colour, taken from a burn above 1500 ft and kept in a fridge for at least a week.
. Colour is variable though, been through a filter and UV. Doesn't need a fridge this time of year

2017 released at the Islay festival and it’s name means ‘friendship’ in gaelic. About £300.
