Seeking advice/clarity on stalking on uncleared land as a guest…

Hoping somebody could clarify this for me please?

So if somebody has a closed FAC which states they can only use their rifle on paid/guided stalks. Are they able to stalk on a stalker/guides permission if it hasn’t been cleared by the police? As the guide holds an open certificate, does he deem the land safe for their guest to shoot their own rifle/calibre regardless if the land has been cleared or not? (I must add, with the guide present of course)

Cheers,
They can with the Guide’s estate rifle not their own.

If your certificate say for use on paid/guided stalks then that’s what your doing. The clearance is the guide’s problem to get sorted.
so a guide advertises guided stalking only if you have ….. calibre how many times have you seen that.

I’ve not yet received my FAC, just recently had my FEO visit. This is just something I have been talking about with another stalker. Yes, definitely will be getting clarification from FEO.
If you have not got your FAC yet, your assumption about the paid stalks condition may be wrong. A condition for use only on paid stalks is not a standard Home Office condition. You may just end up with a standard closed certificate.

My experience as a guide, I made sure when I started guiding that ALL my land was cleared, out of all the farms only one wasn't, met the FEO onsite, did a quick survey, got it cleared.
If it isn't just use the guides rifle.

And a word of warning, check out your 'guides' as well, make sure they are not just a fly by night type looking to line their pockets, check their licence for an open condition, get references, does the landowner know the guide is taking out paid clients, and finally, make sure they have their own commercial insurance, lots don't.

I have been in this situation and used the estate rifle - even so, the clearance was checked.

This is also the case when people invite there friend stalking..Fred has open ticket on uncleared ground takes his mates son with a closed fac and sons rifle
Seen it on here as I asked a lad who had a closed fac had an invite. Did you ask if the land was cleared..NO
Did they ask you what Fac you had...No
People are blinkerd and in too much of a hurry to shoot deer so never bother looking at what their FAC actually lets you do..

Cheers,
I put it to the FEO at the time of my application, am I supposed to call you for every bit of ground I go to nationwide for paid stalking? They said no, your certificate will allow for that, but not for new permanent permissions you get, they will have to be individually cleared like normal.

As a result, I had the standard “land deemed suitable by the chief constable….” clause, but then an annex which said something along the lines of “land we deem suitable includes…” “xx permission address used in FAC application” and also “paid stalking events”. I would take this to mean that for the purposes of “paid stalking events” only, it is effectively an ‘open’ certificate, i.e you do not have to get/ensure land clearance.
