CB I do not go against anything you say, My reply would be why not do it in the day light. Most of the contractors from here have jobs this is a little extra. I say fill your boots but follow the law and BP that underpins it. IF You do not have the money or the resources then look about you in the central belt area there is a waiting list at every private and company office for deer stalking. Why don't they lamp these small areas because there is absolutely no need. This competence of the Scottish government set about by SNH is a sham is it not.
My Last post Christ I said I would not get into this lol.See what a glass of wine can do.
6P i do not think we are that far away i our opinions.
But 1 question
Wot do u belive the problem is? Is it the number of deer their culling or purely the method?
I used to have a more of a problem with lamping, but in reality it doesnae really make much difference, its more the numbers that count and sadly managing deer is all about numbers now
Would u rather the small parcel was syndicated out and they shot the same number?
Now it probably won't have a massive population of deer, so having say 6 local stalkers, possibly 1 or 2 retired out once a week each and a most weekends having the working boys out stalking.
If lamping can be more effective (and in small parcels of land it probably is quite effective) u could probably argue a case for lamping actually being far kinder for the deer as they are disturbed far less.
The only argument against lamping is it is not as selective but u could argue the ammount of selective culling in forestry areas is almost nil nowadays anyway
