the wife just did a roe shoulder on the bone meat just fell off when cooked drain it then fry it quickly use it as a substitute for crispy duck bloody amazing................
They are great little things (or big in this case), well worth investing in. I'll be doing venison shanks this week in mine, i'm hoping the marrow will add a good bit of flavour to it.
Turned out great in mine.
Marinate overnight in red wine (cheap...La Chiave..the clue is in the name) + onion and celery chopped up and topped up with water to cover.
Next day 5 hours in the slow cooker then add the veg, chunks of carrots and new pots halved, then another 5 hours.
You end up with great falling off the bone meat and too much stock...which you can use to make great soup.
Then the bones go to the dogs*
No wasteage.
* ps.. I know the bones can splinter so the dogs only get them for long enough to clean any gristle etc. off, then they have to give them back
They are very good about this as we have always trained them to give what is asked for.
