I see on Copperbears website that they sell sampler packs of 20 bullets. I thought about trying their .323 bullets in my double but they only do a 192grn and I've not been able to get that weight to shoot as well as the 180 fox or the Lapua 180 Naturalis.hey Jagare, og tak

Hey buddy, yeah i checked out some of their offerings, and i too thought Their choice of bullet weights looked surprisingly high. Especially considering that it's non lead, and thus the projectiles are likely longer than lead projectiles for the same weight.
Are these fragmenting or non fragmenting non leads?

They look like non fragmenting. A few weeks ago I was at the Swedish game fair and there was another Swedish manufacturer of non lead bullets there. For the life of me I can't remember who they were. Wow, so they're possibly non fragmenting, so high weight retaining, yet very heavy for caliber non lead ammo.......but why? It seems opposite to the logic of non lead bullets in general, doesnt it?
2.
Are they also expecting sweden to go lead free as well, or is this just a response to the development of the global market you think, with perhaps many smaller and independent manufactorers sensing a chance to get on the non lead ammuntion market, before the big guys take it over, like with non lead?

Expansion in the pictures look good, but then all do with best case results.
No pictures of the 7mm that I could see, and rather on the heavy side for a mono it would seem, Guess they’re aimed at elk/moose? Would mean low launch speeds from my .284 win on a short action so probably not for me.
Certainly look a promising option though, mores the better I say!

Yep Sweden will be lead free in the future. I'm sure lead will be used for many years till the supply dries up. As so little game is sold to game dealers here compared to the UK I can't see any great panic to change.
The people who make a good mono bullet will survive and the others will disappear.
There was very little positive written about mono bullets in the Swedish hunting press a few years ago but there development has come a long way since then. I've got enough components and loaded ammo to see me out.

hey mate, yeah, i figured Sweden might also soon be on the non lead path of hunting ammo, and yes, hopefully competition will be healthy to the non lead bullets, and result in a market supply of well priced and varied quality options, but let's see. In italy they also have a bad rep, (i used to live and hunt there too), probably because a lot of people who tried them out in the 90ies and early 00s were using the early versions and also maybe didnt understand how to use them properly either.
In Denmark most hunters also just harvest for themselves, and not professionally, yet i think from march 2024 all lead ammo, even stuff bought before the ban, will no longer be permitted to hunt with. So here it really soon will be non lead or nothing in terms of hunting with a rifle.
i will look more into these sonic bullets, and maybe also a few others before buying the cartridge components, but if i had to buy today i think i'd be leaning towards fox or peregrine vrg4s. At typical scandinavian hunting distances, probably the fox, as i am not sure the extra cost for the higher bc peregrine bullets is worth it, for us.

You hit on a good point about typical Scandinavian hunting distances. A bullet with a bc of a brick would still work OK for us. I,ve loaded the Fox 150grn in the .308 and have killed boar and fallow and muntjac OK. 180grn fox and lapua Naturalis that both bullets have killed boar and red deer cleanly. The only problem with Naturalis is the price. Now they are over 1000sek for a box of 50.At typical scandinavian hunting distances, probably the fox, as i am not sure the extra cost for the higher bc peregrine bullets is worth it, for us.

Jokes a side, price of is one of the valid factors to consider as well, and that sort of price is too much. Hm, i might just buy a box of the sonic, as well as some fox, (peregrine seems harder to source here in Denmark). Then i can make some experience in the field, and report back here eventually.
Those petals carving up things in an not entirely predictable way does worry me a bit, but then again it sounds like it hasnt been giving people too much trouble so far, and potentially it is also something POA can address somewhat.
We'll see.If i may ask, where are you based in Sweden mate? Iam from right north of Copenhagen, but now live in an appartment in the city. And as i have found out that isnt exactly super comfortable for storing gun powder and reloading lol.

I was actually planning to go wandering/hiking with a mate there, this late summer In terms of ammo, i guess only being 3hrs from Denmark makes it possible for you to even pick up some of the danish non lead brands too, if you want to experiment with scandi ammo, and they dont ship to sweden.
Besides the sonic already mentioned DK Bullets are also a fragmenting design i believe: DK Bullets Webshop
Whilst JCP ammunition seems to be more in the high BC ammo camp, and only sells pre loaded ammo i believe: JCP Ammunition - Kvalitets-ammunition til jagt og træning
