Sporting Rifle Shoot – Sunday 8th September 2019

Thanks to everyone who shot today and whoever is in charge of the weather as it couldn't have been more different than AM last year!

I will ensure we have a BSRC chamois shoot debrief and discuss how we might make this shoot more attractive to a;- the membership and b;- easier for non BSRC members to get involved.

I'm not convinced the need for SCC is the only issue in play in respect of the latter but happy to be proved wrong.

Lastly thanks to NDT Man for helping out at short notice due to an unscheduled BSRC Committee Meeting to discuss you know what.

Naughty. In fact, we had 16 participants up here - 16 is a good turnout IMO, but a poor fox-score.
Only joshing. I've no idea of Mike's fox score as I ended up spending the afternoon in the butts marking what I must assume were mutiple re-entrys from those BSRC members, in a very small figure, unafraid of shooting beyond 100 yards!

I've just received my membership renewal email from the NRA, and for the first time have been quite annoyed that I have to pay these guys 83.75 so that they try and shut my club down. In exchange, they provide me with an utterly pointless magazine and a duplicate insurance policy that I don't need. What a racket.

My feelings entirely. Am seriously considering letting my Club membership lapse as a result (cutting nose off to spite face etc)

Sadly I still do not have all scores to post here albeit I do know who deservedly came top in both the goat and fox as I ended up in the butts marking his incoming!

For those who may be interested I now have the scores for the 11 shooters who took part this year (2019) in each discipline:-

The 200 Yard Chamois
CT
- BSRC 97

JK - BSRC 94

AR - BSRC 94

NJ - BSRC 94

RL - BSRC 93

MS - BSRC 92

AB - BSRC 92

CR - BSRC 76

NS - BSRC 75

DM - BSRC 43

The 200 Yard Fox
CT
- BSRC 83

RL - BSRC 82

NJ - BSRC 81

DM - BSRC 75

AR - BSRC 72

MS - BSRC 57

CR - BSRC 47

SW - BSRC 43 (.22LR)

NS - BSRC 39

AB - BSRC 31

Sadly attendance was down on last year by 50% but this takes nothing away from the top scores and groups posted by CT who deservedly took home both trophies.

Does that pompous tw*t called kynoch still go ? Most of the guys were great, but he was just full of cr*p....put me off going and eventually gave up my membership , as did a couple of mates of mine...

Yes, JMK is now in his 80's but still shoots regularly and posts winning scores in accordance with his status as one of the finest sporting Rifleman the UK has produced. He has an Olympic medal to support that observation.

I franky think you've misjudged him and have mistaken a certain confidence in one's ability and purpose as pompousness.

That's not to say that those who've taken the time to get to know him agree with everything he gives voice to but I'll always have respect for John as his Riflemanship is inspiring and always a joy to behold.

That may be, but he used to act like BSRC was his own private operation....complete knob IMHO
