Sportsman centre. What a pile of pants

sweep,

Could you please PM me your full name, address and order number for the 2 missing pairs of trousers?

I am in the office at this moment and can see no trace of any order for 2 pairs of pro hunter trousers? :suss:

I've bought a few things from them, if it's in stock service is good, you recieve your parcel with what's in stock, and a message saying the rest will follow, they don't give you a courtesy call or message to let you know expected delivery details, which is frustrating. If you contact them, they always respond. It's normal service nowadays, no one carries stock.

Thomas you ask a good question but like the major importers Edgars Bros and GMK they have a captive market so that's how they survive. The Sportsman is also buying into other shops so they can spread their service culture. They have brought into a gunshop not far from me. I never liked them before this and try never to go there now.

Having been in the fishing tackle trade a while ago I still get copies of "Tackle & Guns" trade magazine, there is an interesting article in it this month about Torbay Angling shop being up for sale, it has "just closed down so the owner Gary Lamburn can plough the cash into his flagship Sportsman Gun venture in Exeter". Perhaps not all in the garden is rosey?

Ive never recieved anything but great service from the Sportsman Dorchester.. I have no experience of the Exeter Branch..

The guys at Dorchester looked at my Steyre that wasnt purchased from them with a loose butt

Sorted a new set of eye cups for my Swaro's free of charge that were ordered and picked up after i recieved a phone call within a couple of weeks..

Theyre just about to send my Le Chameaus back to the importer without a quibble as the metal insert has broken..

Great guys that have gone out of their way with advice and help..

I may be mistaken but isn't it SportARM in Dorchester, rather than the shiite Sprotsman Gun Centre of Exeter/Litts infamy

I wonder how much business Sportarm lose from being mistakenly associated with Sportsmans

Theres two Sportsmans... One at Exeter and one with a Dorchester address even though its out past Crewkerne..

The Sportarm at Dorchester is well known to me as is Sportsmans Dorchester...;)

Fair enough, hadn't noticed your location before posting, nice part of the world, did my DSC1 at Lulworth.

I still wonder about the loss of business etc

I have had some decent service from the Exeter crew but the Newport/Litts mob leave a lot to be desired, I could wander around in there for hours before someone asks if I need help.

Litts in Newport is the pitts, would never go there again even if you paid me to cross the bridge.

As of the Exeter crew, were very helpfull when I purchased my Geovids, but 18months latter still awaiting a cluson part for the gunmount. I doubt it will ever arrive. I must say I tend to save up all my purchases for the year and haggle at the Midland Game fair. Norman Clarke tends to be the first point of call.

i was in the dorchester sportsman over xmas with a few mates off here, and they seemed more than helpfull. then i rang up and ordered a new pair of le chameau wellingtons on saturday and they were with me yesterday. first time i have done mail order with them but it went brill :thumb:

Has anyone used midway uk. Just had ganders on there and they seem to have good amount of stuff at really good prices

bri2506,

Tend to drop ship out of US, but you are dealing with a UK Company and their pricing takes care of all the "delivery".

Everything I've ordered from them has been similar to Cabelas or BassPro.

I've waited weeks for some orders from sportsmans. Other times I have cancelled orders, only to have them send it anyway. My local RFD has problems with them too. Most of the stuff they show as in stock is actually on back order and therefore causes delays.
Not impressed. Have found uttings to be a lot better.
