Stalking gloves

There have been plenty of posts about gloves but nothing I could see that recent. I am giving up on my Sealskinz Sporting gloves for stalking, they just do not keep your hands warm or dry. I was out the other day in calm, clear conditions, temp about +2 degrees. My hands were cold within 10 minutes. Looking for advice on a decent pair, need to be waterproof, keep the mitts warm (obviously) and not be too bulky. Not fussed about fold down fingers as I take that glove off to shoot. Have looked at Swedteam, Seeland, Norrona, 5etta, Harkila and Le Chameau offerings, a lot of choice these days, any advice appreciated.

You can get merino glove liners like this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/sealskinz-merino-glove-liner-aw16/rp-prod88142?gs=1&gclid=CKn9xdbAtdACFbMK0wodPqQBOA&gclsrc=aw.ds

Exactly my thoughts. I dunno how much I paid for my Sealskinz Shooting Gloves, but it was too much. I am very unimpressed with them. They don't keep your hands warm. They are a scunner to put off and on when they get damp. The only thing is Sako, you have snookered the contract as I was going to try and sell them to some poor unsuspecting soul! Now I can't! Damn.
Be warned folks. Don't buy them.

I actually think that cycling gloves may well be the way to go. We must have enough cyclists on here to give us their views.

Aye Sako, sick of strickly!!!! Too dark for me as I don't have these new fangled devices of thermos imaging and night viewing, or whatever. So I've got to sit in a darkened room on my wee iPad.
I can't imagine the ultra grip will be any good. Too "bobbly" when you are holding your rifle I imagine. Might be OK to hold the sticks?
I still think cycling gloves may be the way to go. Just waiting for all the cyclists watching strickly to get back on here.

I picked up some black silk tight fitting gloves from Decathlon for around 4 quid to use as liners and they were very good last winter, now as I am in Mexico at plus 30 degrees I have no use for them as the pina colada glass slips in my hand with them.

Macwet gloves every time. Keep your hands surprisingly warm, the best level of feel and dexterity you'll get with any glove. For really cold or wet weather I'd look at a goretex over mitt for them. Mil surp are fine. The 5eta are good as well.

Have a search on fleabay for soldier 95 gloves. Whether thry're ex army, or replica won't matter. Leather outer, goretex lined, should be about 20 quid. End of.....cold hands

Simple - cry once at the price. I used mine this afternoon for an hour at -6 degrees c on my paraglider playing with clouds. My hands are exposed to a 30 to 40 kmh wind speed as well. My hands remained toasty warm. I got mine several years ago for winter skiing and paragliding so white and red in colour. I often do find them too warm for skiing if skiing or skinning up hill. But if you are not working hard they are brilliant. I think I will have to get a pair of green and brown hunters guantlets as well.

i wear liners when cold and use a hand warmer in them when really cold
thin enough to shoot with them on, not leaked and the leather reacts well to some snoseal proofing.
if it really hosing it down then am sure the leather will get soggy

I have tried a few but now sold on Norrona - just bought a second pair in case I lose one as they are produced in batches so your size can be OOS for quite a long time.
Only snag is they were a bargain at £49 but price of new stock has leapt to £79

Found them perfectly adequate to be honest, not bobbly or bulky. I normally take a size large in gloves but decided on the medium for a closer fit.

Have read good things about Norrona gloves, just put an order in, expensive but hopefully these will be the answer. Seems to be so much overpriced crap on the market with regards stalking kit. I don't mind paying if the kit works, anyway look forward to trying these, will post back with a review sometime.
