Not sure this is the correct section not doubt admin will shift as appropriate.

A few years ago I was given a complete set of monthly issues of Stalking Magazine 1988-2000, believe publication went to quarterly for a couple of years thereafter before ceasing.

Some SD members might remember it or have been subscribers.

I no longer have space for these and would like to find a home for them where they might be appreciated and not thrown away. Having worked in the press all my career I have a soft spot for the printed word.

Maybe the BDS or BASC have an archive to house them ?

All suggestions appreciated , happy to deliver a reasonable distance from Worcs Hereford.

You might want to contact second hand field sports book sellers. Quite a few to choose from

Anyone with an interest in UK deer and deer stalking should be beating a path to your door!

Stalking Magazine was essential reading, and many of the articles are still directly relevant today, being both enjoyable and informative with authors including Richard Prior, Ian Alcock, Ken Griffin, Ronnie Rose and many others.

Hi @Nimrod1960
I will ask David our CEO to drop you a line.
Thanks

I have about 80% of the issues. I envy you, even if you have to move them on. I even recognised the covers you posted. Mine are going in my will.
The editor Christopher Borthen put together an outstanding list of contributors.

This magazine started up at about the time I started stalking. I found it incredibly useful as information was hard to come by back then. Christopher Borthen was a really nice guy and very much "one of us". When we moved I had to have a purge and there were no takers although my Guns Review collection went to Marford Mill.

sell them to highest bidder surely some one that pays for them is more likely to keep them. Then if its not about the money pass on to your chosen charity.

I have a set, in the red binders, bought ten years ago from a chap selling up. They are wonderful. From a better time! Ken Griffins writing from Applecross stands out, even among many fantastic writers!

Would be superb if the set could be converted to pdf and made available on line as either a free resource or a pay to view - not sure of copyright or if the magazines editors / owners are still alive and have any claim or title

I would be very cautious about passing it to any organisation - I recall several copies of Peter Dulaps records / memoirs being passed (quite some time ago now) to the BDS with promises of “it will be made available to members”

Never to see the light of day again

Same as when one writes letters of complaint to the same organisation

Promises of replies

Never to be replied to
