steyr pro hunter scope mounts help

I have just bought a steyr pro hunter in .308

I need higher scope mounts than the standerd ones, as I can see the top of my mod through the scope.

I need a bit of advice on what scope mounts will fit this rifle, do I need to buy a base, then mounts?

Think the Warne mounts fit it mate...give Sportsman a call, they will be able to advise.

Warne mounts defo fit, but I went for some 3rd eye tactical jobbies, much more robust. How bad is the mod in your sight picture? What magnification are you rolling on?

I could only just see the mod, a couple of mm higer would clear it. I was on 6x.

I don't stalk often with a Mod on my Steyr but one is always on my .22-250 Tikka and I've just got used to it in the bottom of the scope. You'd be better off putting up with it as higher mounts might make the eye relief all wrong or worse still make it difficult to zero!

Don't worry about scope height too much. Have a play with any ballistic software and you'll see scope height doesn't make lots of difference
