My primos trigger sticks have given up. Looking online I see they are now £150 are any of the cheaper types any good.
To be honest the primos ones haven’t last very long tho.

wooden sticks by Tony i have shot hundreds from mine and there still working fine and don't clang like metal or fiber.
Agreed, although they do still clatter. Think I got mine at the first stalking fair in Kelso!

If using a wooden stocked rifle, do note they will scratch the stock

Problem solved I stripped the trigger sticks down last night and they were corroded and sticking. A quick squirt of wd40 and worked them back and forth and they are now working perfectly.

I have nursed my set back to life many times but now use a Teflon spray instead of WD 40. The Teflon spray does not attract all the crud that WD does and lasts longer between strip downs
For cleaning

Tripods are stable but have to be set up towards where the 'pray' is expected to come out. But most often the 'pray' don't follow orders and come out from some other direction. Awkward to move are tripods. Nowdays often use wooden bi-sticks as they will be set up in no time and in whatever direction.
At very fixed shooting spots i.e. sort of high stand on ground I use both the tripod and the wooden bipod. Also a folding chair with good back support. Wild boar and 3 + hr sitting.
Wooden sticks are sprayed with rubber glue.
