Out on Saturday with a client, very, very quiet on the grounds, birds hardly making a noise, saw a big buck early on, but he disappeared into the long grass, unfortunately for the rest of the morning we only saw Muntjac Doe and kids, then just before we were about to wrap up another one of the large bucks ran out the woods and across the ride out of view. Driving out this guy was just sitting there without a care in the world!
Today in another location we had a slightly different experience, first field had 4 deer with just the buck in. A bit of an interesting stalk, involving having to get past a Doe and kid to get to him.
Another field had 2 Doe's and nothing else, the rest of the farm was quiet and nothing coming out of the woods.
Deer was gralloched and inspected, it's currently hanging in the chiller ready to be turned into mince and steaks.
