Glad you see my point and have become enlighted to the way of the ground gralloch.

Gravity is your friend!Vote for the suspended gralloch. I find it cleaner with less blood staining in the cavity

I use a very small pack down cord & mini pulley from a yachting application, one arm would pull 60.Not when you're hoisting 60+Kg up off the ground.
I’m leaving it on the ground and using an enthusiastic son in law to get it to the car. I’ve inveigled the odd guest to lend a hand too. If I’m on my lonesome I don't shoot anything too far from the track but I always leave it on the ground.I use a very small pack down cord & mini pulley from a yachting application, one arm would pull 60.

Leave it on the floor, you don't need any pulleys and you can use both arms for something more usefulI use a very small pack down cord & mini pulley from a yachting application, one arm would pull 60.

Excellent thread for getting your post count up
I do a suspended gralloch about 80% hours f the time. It suits MY stalking as I can usually easily get the car to bigger deer (so don’t need to carry the hoist etc) and roe/muntjac can easily be hung in a tree using S hooks.Great idea here goes

Yep. And dragging it down a peat-enthused burn cleans and adds something no less special!I like to wrestle on the floor with it, a few leaves and a bit of muck inside saves seasoning when in the pan.
